Last week I was busy helping a client prepare for an interview and so I thought I would share with you my top 7 most frequently asked interview questions which is taken from the latest edition of my Inspirational Toolkit, issue 17 – 7 top interview questions
Of course these 7 are just the tip of the iceberg and ideally you should try and prepare for these as well:
- why do you want this job?
- what kind of person are you?
- why did you leave your last job?
- why do you want this job?
- describe the worst/best boss you ever had
- if you could choose to work for any company, which would you choose?
- would you be prepared to take a salary cut?
- describe a time when you didn’t meet your goals or objectives
- how has your education prepared you for your career?
- are you a team player?
- have you ever had a conflict with a boss/colleague and how was it resolved?
- if you had the chance to live your life again, what is the one thing that you woould change?
- what do you like most/least about your current job?
- what kind of people do you like working with?
- give an example of when your work was criticised and how you handled that criticism
- what kind of people do you find difficult to work with?
- do you prefer to work alone or in a group and why?
- how do you measure your own performance?
- how do you feel aboout working long hours?
and the list goes on but the more prepared you are, the more confident you will feel and the less likely you will get flustered if you are asked a question that you weren’t expecting.
What other questions have you been asked in an interview? I’d love to add them to the list.
