3 secrets to success

Have you ever stopped to notice the similarities between successful people and wondered how they came to be so successful?

Well, this weekend, I was lucky enough to receive an email from my colleague Edward Munoz of “theueffect” where he touched upon just that and after digesting what he wrote; I thought I’d share with you what I believe to be the top 3 secrets to success:

  1. Live life to the full – it’s true, we have one life so we need to stop dwelling on the past or worrying about the future, start living for today and put 100% effort into everything we do.  That’s exactly what successful people do, they have very few regrets in their life and even when things haven’t gone exactly as planned, they learn from it and keep moving forward.  When they decide to do something they give it 100% which immediately increases their chances of success.
  2. Get rid of the negativity in your life – whether it’s negative energy or negative people (you know the ones who are always saying,  “yes, but…”) who are always complaining and who insist on bringing you down.  If you want to be successful, you need to surround yourself with positive energy and people who will encourage and motivate you to be creative, keep going and giving it your all.
  3. Challenge fear – successful people are only human, they too have fears but they don’t let the fear of doing something take over their lives.  Instead they see it as a challenge and use the adrenalin to give them the energy to do whatever it takes to get over that fear and get the task done.

And of course, all successful people have a mentor to help and inspire them. Why? Because they know that it takes too long to learn everything themselves and once they have achieved success, they too become mentors to pass on what they have learnt.

These are my 3 secrets to success, please be sure to add yours as a comment below.
